STEPS TO PEACE

Peace is a state of harmony characterized by the lack of violence, conflict behaviors and the freedom from fear of violence. Commonly understood as the absence of hostility, Peace also suggests the existence of healthy or newly healed interpersonal or international relationships, prosperity in matters of social or economic welfare, the establishment of equality, and a working political order that serves the true interests of all.  PEACE and Development of any kind is ultimately tied  to education, which provides the means to change the condition of lives.

The WE-Foundation’s founder and Executive Director, Marques Anderson is a former American football safety in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2002 and played 5 seasons. Always striving to create a positive impact on himself and the people around him, his passion to create change came during his first trip to Lagos, Nigeria during his University years at UCLA.  After being drafted, Marques was blessed enough to play 5 seasons in the NFL, but always had a calling to do more. While traveling through South America and getting his Masters degree in Adult Learning and Global Change from Linköping Universitet in Sweden, the first steps to creating the WE Foundation were in motion. With the tools and values acquired  from,  family, studies, life experiences and football; he set out to change the world!

Since creating the WE Foundation, Marques has traveled to over 37 countries developing an international network of experts, interns and volunteers, assisting in project structure and implementation, bringing education to some of the most conflicted areas in the world. The WE Foundation quantifies and allocates resources, to implement strategic projects, which increase the level of security, opportunity and growth among some of the most marginalized individuals in the world. 

The WE Foundation has been able to touch thousands of lives through projects focused in the areas of; Health, Environment, K-12 and Adult Education, Infrastructure Development and Sports.
